Dear employers,

As is the case in the whole world, in Montenegro as well development of entrepreneurship presents the important factor for development of economy, overall business ambience and prosperity of the country itself. Simply said, employers are the ones who maintain the budget, employ working force, and at their own risk invest in development and opening of new working positions. This is why Montenegrin Employers Federation has been established – the second pillar in bipartism, the third in tripartism, whose representative quality has been recognised officially at national and international level.

The objective set by MEF is the development of social dialogue, promotion and protection of small and medium business and establishment of economic ambience favourable for development and improvement of business. In all activities we conduct in MEF, we are lead by vision that with power of unity we can influence establishment of such environment that will enable that our members, employers and entrepreneurs of Montenegro, realise business successes in the following years, actively cooperate and develop partner relations, improve economic development of their country and help its better positioning in international frameworks.

Depending on the kind of choice it makes, one country will succeed or lose chance to improve its economic situation. Therefore, we in MEF believe that it is very important to be aware of the importance of the moment in which Montenegro is, and which relates to the process of EU integration. What we are to face is harmonisation of our legislation with European legislation, and afterwards its complete application in practice. Taking into account the position and role of MEF in Montenegrin society, it is understandable that on all issues related with informing on future conditions and ways of business operations, MEF, as an official representative of Montenegrin employers, will approach fulfilling of all obligations in a quality and responsible way.

In meantime, MEF will continue to strive for free transfer of goods, services, work and capital, as well as for improvement of rules and ambience in which its employers will operate. Our work will be directed towards realisation of activities that are aimed at: reduction of taxes and contributions, informal economy, interest rates and easier access to loans, elimination of bribe and corruption, elimination of business barriers, elimination of monopoly, reduction of municipal taxes and contributions and elimination of all taxes that are not in line with Law, attraction of direct foreign investments and increase of competitiveness of our economy, with at the same time striving for protection of domestic production at the level in accordance with EU member states rules.

Our cooperating hand will be social dialogue that, together with power of unity of all employers and entrepreneurs of Montenegro, will help in establishment of prosperous, competitive and economically strong state towards which MEF strives for.
